Working at the centre

There are many opportunities to help and learn while volunteering with JMC.

You can focus on the educational field by teaching English, Math, and whatever you are good at, or you can have fun with the kids by climbing and teaching yoga. Remember we are always open for new experiences, bring ideas with you!

Accomodation

Jipe Moyo Centre would be happy to host volunteers in the sisters house, if rooms are available, and will ask for a small amount to cover room and board . However, there are many hotels at very reasonable prices just few minutes walking from the centre, and we can surely help booking.

Travel

At the moment, Musoma airport is under renovation and it's not working, so the best solution is to fly into major airports like DAR or JRO, then take an internal flight to Mwanza, and finally a beautiful bus trip to Musoma.

VISA

We recommend to apply on-line for a VISA to enter Tanzania. We will send you an inivtation letter to make things easier. Please get in touch with us before travelling for further advice.

Culture

Since we base our educational program on respecting each other, please, make sure to find your way to assimilate a bit of Tanzanian culture before your travel. One example we like to remind is to cover your shoulders and knees and to be respectful of the Catholic usuals.

Visiting Musoma

Musoma is a beautiful lakeside town. There is a fascinating local market selling everything from spices to locally made baskets and clothing. The West Gate of the Serengeti is within easy reach of Musoma and there are local safari tour groups who will organise everything for you.
